The event which put an end to the relationship between Lăcătuş and Răzvan Lucescu took place 5 years ago. In january 2004, Lăcătuş was dismissed from the post of main coach of FC Braşov and replaced with Lucescu junior.
"The Beast" had just managed to bring Braşov on the 3rd place in Division A in the previous season, and they finished the turn of the next championship on the 11th place.
Sources from Lăcătuş’ circle affirm that Mariana, his wife, asked him to put an end to the relationship with Lucescu jr because "he vaunted that he would never take the place of a friend, but he didn’t keep his word".
