Romania U 21 qualified after nine years to the European Championship play-off.
The youngsters defeated Russia their number one opponent in the preliminaries and 90 minutes away from the Euro 2011 play-off.
Emil Săndoi's boys entered the game with only one thing in mind: VICTORY. They dominated the game from the first moments and had a two goal advantage at half time.
Even though Emil Săndoi started the match with a defensive team that had 5 midfielders Romania was the one that attacked. The Russians only managed to approach Silviu Lung's goal a couple of times.
Bicfalvi, the man
When Sburlea and Mihai Costea didn't manage to bring the ball in front of the goal Eric Bicfalvi was the one to do it. He scored the first goal of the match and perfectly launched Neagu on Sburlea's goal.
The Russians tried to turn the game around but they couldn't find the right strategy to open up the Romanian defense. Romania scored again in the second half when Hora converted yet another wonderful pass from Bicfalvi.
