The Cim Bom played without pressure with Hagi on the bench against Fenerbahce, even though he lead only two training sessions before the match.
Time wasn't on Hagi's side. On Thursday he reached an agreement with Galata, on Friday he signed the contract and was officially presented and yesterday made his second debut on the teams bench. Not a simple one, because he had to face the rivals from Fenerbahce.
A packed stadium awaited the two sides on Sukru Saracoglu. With only two training session with the team, Hagi's players showed great ambition and determination. They played a tough match, passed very well and took control of the game.
In these conditions, the Cim Bom easily reached Fenerbahce's goal. In only 20 minutes they already had 3 great chances to score. Pinto managed to get pass Volkan, but his shot was blocked on the line by Gokhan Gonul. Neill pulled an excellent shot, but the keeper managed to save it.
Defense
Galata was forced to defend in the start of the second half, when Fener started to increase their pace. Niang and Stoch tried to surprise Aykut, but they couldn't defeat him. In the final moments, the Cim Bom once again got into the offensive and could have hit the jackpot. Volkan was unbeatable, saving Pinto's final effort. It ended 0-0, a good result for Hagi's team.
