Romania won its first medal at a European Championship » GOLDEN BRONZE!

After the silver medal obtained at 2005 World Championship, the Romanian national handball team won its first medal al European Championship.


Romania won against joint-hosts Denmark 16-15 and celebrated a well-deserved victory, a victory that also guarantees our presence at the 2012 World Championship. Until this match the national team never won any games for a bronze medal at an important competition.

Romania and Denmark were face to face for the second time at this tournament. In the first match of the preliminary round the hosts won 25-22 with the help of Danish supporters who managed to put a lot of pressure on the Romanian team.  

Even if they had the support of over 12.000 people the Scandinavians couldn't obatin a second victory over Romania. Talida Tolnai made some marve
